The referenced diary is here, and the approach is a good one. Just want to comment on a couple things the diary says:
- Methane is an odorless gas. Other molecules are responsible for the fart smell. (Kudos to whoever actually researched and determined this.) But for purposes of the diarist’s argument, they are not significantly larger than methane.
- COVID19 is not transmitted as such from person to person; it’s transmitted by saliva droplets — each of which is considerably bigger than the virions themselves.
So the argument the diarist is trying to make perhaps would be better responded to by saying “sure, masks wont stop farts, but they will stop COVID-filled saliva droplets, and I’m trying to prevent you from spitting on me.”
Just a thought.
